International Peace Bureau's
Annual Conference in DC

Help Us Roll Back Militarism
Come to the United States Capitol one year after the historical election of a president who could break the cycle of exploitation, occupation and War that is embedded into US. The choices of the US Administration can have negative affects on every being on our planet, conversely responsible International practice driven by justice not fueled by militarism promises unprecedented global benefit. With each passing day our role to generate creative, effective strategies and conduct essential, successful interventions becomes more critical.

Bring your vision, energy, and insights to the Georgetown University campus in Washington, DC to explore Rolling Back Militarism: A Task For The Global Movement at the International Peace Bureau's Annual Conference beginning Saturday, November 14th.

Militarism is deeply rooted in US culture. It is reflected in fashion and music, it can be seen in the ways children play or the choices of toys their parents might purchase, students as young as 14 are exposed to military recruitment at school, and individuals who consistently challenge the country's militarism are branded “unpatriotic”. Shifting US culture to one that values international peace, human rights for all and that can work to create economic and environmental justice requires a global movement. How do you see us creating this movement? What steps can be taken to support the Obama administration realize the hope communicated in pre-election promises and commitments to the global community? Is such deep change possible in the midst of the dramatic international economic changes we are experiencing?

These and so many other critical questions will be addressed in DC next month. We need your analysis and energy. Join us!
