About
the Peace Action Education Fund
The Peace Action
Education Fund (PAEF), a 501(c)3 organization, works to achieve the
abolition of nuclear weapons, promote government spending priorities
that support human needs and encourage a foreign policy that embodies
respect for human rights. To accomplish these goals, PAEF’s
national office provides national campaign coordination, training
of local activists and volunteers, public mobilization and hosting
annual strategy meetings for lead organizers. Peace Action Education
Fund’s national office connects its grassroots network to policy
makers in the Administration, Congress and United Nations.
More than 10 years ago, the Peace Action Education Fund initiated
the Student
Peace Action Network (SPAN) to bring the voices of young activists
into the forefront of the peace movement. The network was created
to facilitate cross-campus communication, build intergenerational
alliances and to forge a more popular and diverse student peace movement.
Over the years, SPAN has provided organizing resources, trainings,
mentorship and support to thousands of young activists on hundreds
of high school and college campuses.
